WheroNet IoT is a new division of WheroNet, a wireless ISP delivering internet to South Auckland / North Waikato.
The WheroNet network uses our own LoRaWAN network and in-house developed, bespoke IoT devices for monitoring device status and the security of our remote sites.
We were approached by Predator Free Franklin to assist them with a pest control project using our LoRaWAN network and during discussions we agreed to use our expertise to develop a bespoke IoT sensor which can be attached to live capture pest traps to monitor when they are set and sprung.
This request resulted in the creation of WheroNet IoT, and trap monitoring devices and gateways, which we are ready to sell both nationally and internationally.
We have completed prototype and test stages for the first iteration of our trap monitoring device (TM01) which we now have ready for sale. The pilot project has been run by Predator Free Franklin and over 300 TM01 devices have been deployed and are in use.
