Flipping Timmy Instructions
If the trap isn’t new it will be dirty so wash your hands or wear gloves while dealing with the trap.
Installing a Flipping Timmy
You will first need to get your trap sensor, flat disk magnet, cleaning wipes, rivet gun (small gun), rivets and drill bits. Use smaller (3.5mm) rivets so that you don’t split the enclosure
Instructions:
Take your trap sensor, use a screwdriver to remove the sensor (green board) from its enclosure.
Then, bend the small sensor part to the other side of the sensor so that it is underneath.
Once you have done this, screw the sensor back into the box and remove the target sticker from the outside and put it underneath where the sensor is on the underside of the enclosure.
Then, get your Flipping Timmy trap. Because you are going to be putting your hand inside of the trap, pull out the string (this can be hard to pull out so you will need to pull hard) to set the trap and tie a knot so that you don’t trap your hand. When the string is long it is set and when the string is short it is sprung.
Be careful! Always keep your fingers on the outside of the kill bar, between the kill bar and the yellow housing.
Take your cleaning wipes and thoroughly clean a small patch on the side of the kill bar where your magnet is going to be placed. This will help the magnet stick to it. The magnet should be placed relatively forward on the bar close to the open side of the housing not right in the center. The sensor will be placed between the first two rivets on the yellow housing.
Then, get the magnet and stick it onto the kill bar (make sure that it’s fully stuck down). Place another magnet on the outside of the trap, the magnet on the inside of the trap should attract it and then you can find where your magnet is. This will show you how to line up your trap sensor on the outside.
With the trap sensor, place it where the magnet was on the outside of the box, (mark the area if it’s easier) the target sticker on the box should be where the magnet is. If you hear two beeps then you have it in the right place.
The next step is to drill two holes into the outside of the trap where your trap sensor is going to be.
Then you will use your rivets and rivet gun to attach the sensor to the outside of the Flipping Timmy. Once you have done this and the trap is safely secured on the outside of the trap untie the knot in the rope and very gently release the trap (watch your fingers).
